AREA 51 HAS RETURNED
The Terrain Park on Area 51 Returns to Belleayre Mountain
Highmount, NY December 30, 2008 – Belleayre Mountain will be opening the Terrain Park on the Area 51 trail this season. The park, which is set to open this week, will have a different set up and include new features. The park crew has been working hard and getting creative with the new design. This is set to be one of the most impressive parks Belleayre has had to date. Also, be sure to check out the competition style bumps set up on lower Wanatuska.
Alpine Development, the Freestyle Program and the Adult Weekend Workshop will commence on Saturday, January 3, 2009. These season long programs are a great way for intermediate skiers and riders to enhance their abilities. Sign up online or by calling 845-254-5600 x2474. Spaces are booking up fast so make reservations today.
Stop by Potter Brothers on your way up to Belleayre Mountain on Sunday, January 4, 2009, and purchase a discounted lift ticket for $23.95. Potter Brothers offers an extensive line of skis, snowboards and winter apparel including Rossignol, K2, Scott, Bonfire, Giro, Hot Chillys.
Belleayre Mountain will be hosting two special events on Saturday and Sunday, January 10 and 11. The Country Cutting Gallery is organizing a Relay for Life Grand Slalom Challenge Race for fun to benefit the American Cancer Society on January 10, 2009. To pre-register for this event please call 845-586-3311. Then on Sunday, January 11, 2009, the Alzheimer’s Association is organizing A Race to Remember, the 6th Annual Grand Slalom Challenge. Pre-register for this event or RSVP for the Alzheimer’s Day Breakfast by Tuesday, January 6, by calling 1-800-872-0994.
The Demo Center opened Friday, December 26th in the Overlook Lodge thanks to a partnership between Blue Sky Sports and Jimmy’s Belleayre Ski Shop. The center will include the latest and greatest demo ski gear from Rossignol, Elan, Dynastar, Volkl, and Atomic. Customers can test out as much gear as their legs can handle plus take a group lesson from one of Belleayre Mountains highly trained instructors. The Demo Center will offer full tune ups and a Ski Check facility. Eliminate the hassle of carting gear back and forth by storing it at the Demo Center’s Ski Valet facility. DJ Wavy Davy will be rocking the Overlook Lounge on Saturday January 3 with music, raffles and prizes.
Belleayre Mountain is a year-round outdoor recreation area in the Catskill Mountains operated by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation.
